| The sky - The sky tonight |
|
When the fullmoon rose yesterday evening it was dimmer an reder than usual, due to a total lunar eclipse.
Ususally when the Moon rises and sets, it tuirns red, due to atmospheric refraction. But yesterday it was much diummer and redder than usual, because it was in the shadow of the Earth, creating a lunar eclipse
Watching the eclipse was rather exciting, because, it was hiding in the mist and clouds in the low horizon. And being dimmer than usual, it was very hard to see. In the nothern latitudes as here from Denmark, it was also set against a light-blue summer-sky. Those that did not see the eclipse, will have another chance in december, where the phenomena repeats itself |
