The American Mark Risinger have created an all-sky survey of 37.440 images, that has been put together in an interactive flash. And it's simply amazing!

The Photopic Sky Survey is a 5 Gigapixel photograph of the entire night sky stitched together from these 37440 exposures.

In its flash format you can scan the entire night-sky and zoom in on details such as this detail of IC1805 "Heart nebula" in Perseus.

Risinger used 6pieces KAF8300M cameras with 85mm FL Zeiss-lenses, mounted on a Takahashi EM-11 EQ-mount to take the photos.
