The Russian/Chinese Mars-probe Phobos-Grunt crashed into the pacific ocean yesterday. The French amateaur-astronomer Thierry Legault filmed the probe as it passed over France (See video)

The Phobos-Grunt Mars probe were scheduled to land on the Mars-moon Phobos later this year, but the russian RKA lost contact with the probe after launch.

NASA had a brief contact with the probe last week, but did not manage to establish communication.

According to teh Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, Phobos-Grunt crashed into the pacific ocean 1.250km west of the island Wellington of the Chilean pacificcoast
