Yesterday, China Launched a Shenzhou VIII from the Gobi desert in China's northwest at 9.58pm UT, and is now heading to dock with the Tiangong-1 ("Heavenly Palace) module allready in orbit. This will start the construction of China's spacestation
The Shenzhou VIII module (at left in the image) separated as planned from the Long March rocket at an altitude of 200km above Earth, and is now heading to dock with the Tiangong-1 ("Heavenly Palace) module allready in orbit. This is the start of the construction of a Chinese Spacestation, that is supposed to be finished in 2016-2020. China plans the launch of 2 more modules in 2012, one of which will be manned.
