A group of scientists from Hawaii, Brazil and California has measured the diameter of the Sun with unprecedented accuracy by using a spacecraft to time the transits of the planet Mercury across the face of the Sun in 2003 and 2006.

Space scientists from the University of New Hampshire and multi-institutional colleagues report they have quantified levels of radiation on the moon’s surface from galactic cosmic ray (GCR) bombardment that over time causes chemical changes in water ice and can create complex carbon chains similar to those that help form the foundations of biological structures.

The majority of the lunar craters are supposed to originate from the Late Heavy Bombardement (LHB), that is supposed to have been an effect of the early planetary displacements. But CfA astronomer Matija Cuk propose another theory; That LHB was 'just" a meteor shower, but with a few concentrations, out of which one accidentually hit the Earth-Moon system
